13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Game Gets 3-Hour 'Prologue' Release on March 14

Release containing main game's 1st 3 hours available in 4 different releases

Atlus and Vanillaware announced on Tuesday that they will release 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue, a portion of the main 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim game, for the PlayStation 4 on March 14 in Japan. Players can acquire the game through four different releases, including bundled through newly-priced re-releases of previous Vanillaware games Dragon's Crown Pro and Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir. The release will contain the main game's first three hours, and save data for the demo will not be transferable to the main game.

The companies will also reveal a new promotional video for the game on Thursday.

The releases include:

  • 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Music and Art Clips: includes 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue on a Blu-ray Disc, as well as a 36-page art book, a 10-track mini-soundtrack CD, and a PS4 theme and avatars
  • 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Digital Archives: includes download code for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue and a PS4 theme and avatars
  • Dragon's Crown Pro New Price Campaign Pack: includes Dragon's Crown Pro Blu-ray Disc, download code for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue, Dragon's Crown Pro mini-soundtrack download code, and PS4 theme
  • Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir New Price Campaign Pack: includes Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Blu-ray Disc, download code for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Prologue, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir mini-soundtrack download code, and PS4 theme

Last November, Atlus and Vanillaware delayed the game's planned 2018 release to an as-yet undetermined release date. The companies also canceled the game's PlayStation Vita version, with the game now only slated for the PS4.

Atlus USA will release the game in the West.

George Kamitani (Dragon's Crown, Odin Sphere) is directing the game. The game's official website says that "the game takes place in a modern setting punctuated with giant mechs."

Atlus and Vanillaware revealed the game and released a teaser trailer in 2015.
