Elex Media Licenses Dragon Ball Super Manga

Toyotarō launched manga based on TV anime in 2015

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced last Friday that it has licensed Toyotarō's Dragon Ball Super manga.

Toyotarō launched the manga in Shueisha's V Jump magazine in June 2015 as an adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super anime, although the manga diverges from the anime in several ways. Shueisha published the manga's eighth volume in December.

The manga recently entered the "Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc" in December.

The anime aired in Japan from July 2015 to March 2018. The anime inspired the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film, which opened in Japan on December 14, and it sold more than 820,000 tickets and earned more than 1,050,000,000 yen (about US$9.26 million) in its first three days in Japan, topping the box office in its first weekend. The film will open in Indonesia in February.
