Toronto convention takes place on May 11-12

The Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) announced on Monday that it will host horror manga artist Junji Ito. Ito is also the official poster artist for the event. Below is the poster Ito drew for the event.

Ito will have an on-stage interview, a live-drawing event, and autograph sessions during the event.

Ito's Uzumaki and Tomie manga have inspired live-action adaptations, and his GYO manga inspired an OVA. Viz Media has published these three titles, as well as Ito's Fragments of Horror, Frankenstein: Junji Ito Story Collection, and Smashed: Junji Ito Story Collection in English.

ComicsOne has published his Flesh Colored Horror manga, Dark Horse Comics has published his Museum of Terror manga, and Kodansha Comics has published his Junji Ito's Cat Diary: Yon & Mu manga.

The Junji Ito "Collection" 2017 anime adapted some stories from the Itō Junji Kessaku-shū (Junji Ito Masterpiece Collection) and Fragments of Horror manga.

Ito most recently worked on a manga adaptation of Osamu Dazai's classic novel No Longer Human (Ningen Shikkaku) that launched in May 2017. Ito ended the series last April. Viz Media will release the manga.

This year's TCAF will take place from May 11 to May 12 in Toronto, Ontario.
