Gunjō no Magmell Manga Gets Digital Volume Releases in Japan for Volumes 5-8

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Volumes 5, 6 slated for March 4; volumes 7, 8 slated for April 4

The official page for Chinese manga creator Dainenbyō's Gunjō no Magmell (Magmell of the Sea Blue) manga on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app is listing the manga with upcoming digital releases for the manga's fifth and sixth volumes on March 4, and digital releases for the seventh and eighth volumes on April 4. The site does not specify whether the volumes are intended to be released digitally first with physical releases at a later date, or if the manga's volumes will only be released digitally from now on.

The fantasy series takes place in a world where a new continent named Magmell suddenly appears in the ocean, and a new age of exploration begins. Explorers venture to the island to find previously unknown lifeforms and resources, but experience one disaster after another. The manga follows the mysterious young men who make a living as relief workers who aid the explorers.

Dainenbyō launched the manga on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app in June 2015. Shueisha published the manga's fourth volume in print in July 2017. Dainenbyō revealed in an interview in January that the manga was approaching its climax.

The manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot and Hayato Date (Naruto, Naruto Shippūden, Saiyuki) that will premiere in April.
