posted on by Egan Loo
Cast as Union Army members in anime by studio MAPPA premieres this year

The official website for the television anime of Maybe's to the abandoned Sacred Beasts (Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-tachi e) manga revealed two more anime cast members on Tuesday:

Kaito Ishikawa as Claude, a young major in the Northern Patria Union Army. Born to a distinguished family, he leads the Coup de Grace unit that was established to suppress the Incarnates and hunt these beasts that have gone rogue. Due his unique circumstances, he heeds the calling to subdue the Incarnates even more than others do.

Yōko Hikasa as Liza in the postbellum processing unit of the Northern Patria Union Army's Intelligence Agency. She supports Hank on his ongoing journey as a Beast Hunter.

The anime will premiere this year. The previously revealed cast includes:

Katsuyuki Konishi as Hank

Ai Kakuma as Nancy Schaal Bancroft

Yūichi Nakamura as Cain

Mamiko Noto as Elaine

Vertical Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

During a protacted civil war that pitted the North against the South, the outnumbered Northerners used dark magic to create monsterous super-soldiers called Incarnates. Now that the war has ended, those Sacred Beasts must learn to make their way in a peaceful society, or face death at the hands of a Beast Hunter.

Nancy Schaal Bancroft, the daughter of an Incarnate, turns to hunting the hunter herself. But once she catches up with her quarry, she discovers hard truths about the lives of these Sacred Beasts.

Jun Shishido (storyboards and episode director for Yuri!!! on Ice, Death Parade, Banana Fish) is making his series directorial debut with this anime at MAPPA, and Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombie Land Saga) is in charge of the series scripts. Daisuke Niinuma (episode animation director for Banana Fish, Kids on the Slope) is designing the characters, and is also serving as the chief animation director. Takayuki Sano is credited for Incarnate design. Chikako Kamata (Yuri!!! on Ice, Banana Fish) is the color designer, while Hirofumi Morikawa (Banana Fish) is the art director. Momoko Mifune (Yuri!!! on Ice, Banana Fish) is the director of photography, and Satoshi Aihara is the editor.

Manga creator duo Maybe (Dusk maiden of Amnesia) launched the manga in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in June 2014, and Kodansha published the manga's ninth volume on February 8.
