Langrisser I & II PS4, Switch Remake Game's 2nd Promo Video Streamed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Game ships on April 18

Chara-Ani began streaming the second promotional video on Monday for the Langrisser I & II game collection for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The video features a tutorial for the collection.

The game will ship on April 18, after developers originally planned to launch the game on February 7. The developers cited planning the game's demo version, which launched in February, as contributing to the delay.

The game is Extreme and Chara-Ani's compiled remake of Langrisser I and Langrisser II. The remake will include new visuals, voice recordings, and user interface design. There will be a new heroine named Betty (voiced by Hisako Tōjō), and both games will have multiple story routes. Composer Noriyuki Iwadare is returning to rearrange his original music with a mix of nostalgia and modernity.

First printings of the game's regular and limited editions will include a "classic mode" DLC that will use illustrations and background music from earlier releases of the game. The limited edition will come with production materials, a soundtrack CD, and box art by original illustrator Satoshi Urushihara.

Nippon Computer Systems software division Masaya released the first game in the series for the Mega Drive and PC in 1991, and the game also launched in North America the same year under the title Warsong. The series went on to release four more main games, with Langrisser V: The End of Legend being released only in Japan in 1998 for the Sega Saturn. The games have been ported and remade on multiple occasions.

Beijing-based game company ZLONGAME's global version of its Langrisser Mobile smartphone game based on the Langrisser series launched on January 22.
