Sega Streams 1st Episode of 2-Part Team Sonic Racing Overdrive Animated Shorts

2nd part debuts in April before Team Sonic Racing game launches on May 21

The official YouTube channel for Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog game series began streaming the first part in a new two-part animated short series titled Team Sonic Racing Overdrive on Sunday.

Sega describes the short:

Team Sonic, Team Rose, and Team Dark face off at Wisp Circuit in this first of two parts of a special animation based on Team Sonic Racing! As usual, the diabolical Dr. Eggman seems to have his own plans – can the teams overcome his tricks, or will they find themselves more than a little distracted?

Tyson Hesse directed the short at, Neko Productions, and Yukio Kusumoto served as producer. Sega will release part 2 of the short in April 2019.

Sega will release the Team Sonic Racing game on May 21 after a delay from this winter. The company will release the game physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a digital-only release on PC. The game is a kart racing game featuring characters from the franchise that will feature both online multiplayer and single player modes. The game will also feature team vs. team gameplay.
