Sengoku Collection Game Ends Service After 8 Years

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Smartphone game launched in 2010, inspired anime in 2012

Konami's Sengoku Collection social networking game announced on Monday that it is ending service on May 30. Sales of in-game currency also ended with the announcement.

The game's story is set in the tumultuous Sengoku period of historical Japan, when military masters circle the figurative throne of Japan's first shogunate. In the game, "God of War Cards" have been sealed in six hidden treasures, and fighting breaks out among those who seek the treasures. As a new military master, the player embarks on a journey to obtain the treasures by clearing quests and fighting bosses.

The game launched in December 2010.

The game inspired a television anime adaptation from Brains Base in 2012, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. Right Stuf released the series digitally and on DVD.
