Hayashibara released her latest album Fifty〜Fifty in March 2018, and her latest single "Imawa no Shinigami" in February 2017. The latter served as the opening song of the second season of the Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju anime, where she also voiced the character Miyokichi. Some of her latest roles include Haruha Raharu in FLCL Progressive, as well as the characters Angelina, Francine, and Shirogane Saiga in Karakuri Circus.
