posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Convention takes place on August 16-18

Montreal convention Otakuthon announced on Tuesday that it will host composer Yoshihisa Hirano, music group Faky, and singer and voice actress Rica Matsumoto. Hirano will conduct a performance of some of his compositions with a 10-piece ensemble. Faky will also perform during the convention. The performance will be the group's debut show in Canada. Matsumoto will have panels and autograph sessions during the convention.

The convention will also host French rakugo performer Cyril Coppini, who will have two rakugo performances during the convention.

Hirano has composed soundtracks for such anime as Death Note, Air Master, Hunter x Hunter, Ouran High School Host Club, and Broken Blade. Hirano also composed the soundtrack for the Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII games, and the music for the live-action series adaptation of the Boys Over Flowers Season 2 manga. Hirano is also notable for the composition and arrangement of many of Ali Project's songs.

Faky debuted in 2013, and are a five-member girl pop group. The group have digitally released two albums, as well as one live album. The group have performed theme songs for such anime as Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate-Hen, Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue, and Black Clover.

Matsumoto is perhaps best known as the voice of Satoshi, the Japanese name of the character Ash Ketchum in the Pokémon anime. She has also performed theme songs for many of the Pokémon anime films and series. Matsumoto is also one of the founding members of the JAM Project band. Matsumoto has also voiced roles in such anime as Yu-Gi-Oh!, You're Under Arrest, and Outlaw Star, among others.

The convention will take place from August 16 to 18 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
