Neptunia Shooter Game's Trailer Reveals May 21 Release on Steam

Idea Factory International began streaming a trailer for its Neptunia Shooter game on Wednesday. The trailer reveals the game's May 21 release date on the PC via Steam.
Idea Factory International describes the game:
Armed to the teeth, players begin as Neptune in an unworldly 8-bit space dimension ravaged by creatures who burst endless waves of bullets. Shoot, dodge, and defeat the boss in six unique bullet-hell worlds. After defeating each boss, they will join your mission, allowing you to switch characters and utilize their unique shooting abilities. Neptune and her friends must traverse through this shmup space dimension and defeat the last boss once and for all!
Idea Factory initially revealed the game as an April Fool's joke last month, but later announced that the game was in development for eventual release. Idea Factory International, Idea Factory's international publishing subsidiary, is developing the game.
The most recent game in the Neptunia franchise is Super Neptunia RPG (Yūsha Neptune: Sekai yo Uchū yo Katsumoku se yo!! Ultimate RPG Sengen!!). Quebec-based video game developer Artisan Studios developed the game, and is the first Western studio to develop a game in the franchise. The game launched in Japan for the PlayStation 4 on December 20, and Idea Factory International will release the game for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on June 25 in North America and June 28 in Europe. The game's Steam version will launch on June 20.
