posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will begin streaming the English dub of the third television anime season based on Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa's Bungo Stray Dogs manga on May 17 at 5:00 p.m. EDT. New episodes will debut on Fridays.
Funimation announced on Monday that it will stream the dub with the same release schedule.
The series premiered in Japan on April 12, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series with English subtitles as it airs. Crunchyroll describes the anime:
The White Tiger and the Black Beast – Nakagawa Atsushi and Akutagawa Ryunosuke's fight against Francis F. brings an end to the great war against the Guild. Life goes on as normal in Yokoyama, thanks to the continued truce between the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia, who, together, saved the city from ruin. But there are still rumors of Guild stragglers and other crime organizations making their way in from abroad. Meanwhile, Dazai Osamu had premonitions of another impending disaster. Lurking in the darkness is the Fyodor D., leader of pirate organization Rats in the House of the Dead, his dreadful plans on the verge of execution.
The cast and staff from the previous two television anime seasons and film return for the third season. New cast members include Masaaki Mizunaka as Shirase, Yūna Mimura as Yūan, and Kenichi Suzumura as Tayama.
Takuya Igarashi and Yoji Enokido return to respectively direct and pen the scripts for the season. BONES also returns for the animation. GRANRODEO performs the opening theme song "Setsuna no Ai," and Luck Life performs the ending theme song "Lily." Both groups have previously performed theme songs for the previous television anime and the Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple film.
