Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life Stage Play Reveals 4 More Cast Members

Kotori Kojima, Kōhei Shiota, Masashi Yamazaki, Tatsuki Jōnin join cast

The July issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine revealed more cast members for the stage play adaptation of Amyū's Kono Oto Tomare! (Stop This Sound!) manga on Tuesday. The additional cast includes:

  • Kotori Kojima as Michitaka Sakai
  • Kōhei Shiota as Saneyasu Adachi
  • Masashi Yamazaki as vice principal
  • Tatsuki Jōnin as Kōta Mizuhara

The play will run in Tokyo at Zenrosai Hall / Space Zero from August 17-25, in Fukuoka at Momochi Palace from September 7-8, and in Osaka at Morinomiya Piloti Hall from September 14-15. The play stars Takuma Zaiki as Chika Kudō, Kazuki Furuta as Takezō Kurata, and Hinako Tanaka as Satowa Hōzuki. Naohiro Ise is directing and writing the play.

In the story, Takezō is the last remaining member of the koto club, a club dedicated to the traditional Japanese string instrument. If he doesn't find new members, the koto club will be terminated. One day, Takezō is alone in the club room when a student barges in and demands to join. The student is delinquent Chika Kudō, a boy who even scares delinquent upperclassmen at other schools.

Amyū launched the manga in Jump SQ. in August 2012. The manga inspired a television anime that premiered on April 6. The anime will air for two cours or two quarters of a year; the first half of the series debuted in April, and the second half will premiere in October. Funimation is streaming the series as it airs, and it premiered an English dub on April 27.
