JMPA Reveals Manga Magazine Circulation Numbers for January to March 2019

Weekly Shonen Jump drops below 1.7 million, Weekly Shōnen Magazine drops to 715,000

The Japan Magazine Publishers Association (JMPA) revealed on Tuesday the circulation numbers for January through March of most major manga magazines.

Monthly Shonen Sirius (pictured at right) was the only magazine that saw an increase in circulation numbers compared to the previous quarter. Several other magazines kept the same circulation or close to the same circulation.

For comparison, the charts below also feature circulation numbers for the same magazines for October through December 2018.

In April, Shueisha revealed average circulation numbers and demographic information for its magazines for 2018.

Weekly Shonen Jump's circulation dipped below two million on average during the January to March 2017 period. Similarly, Weekly Shōnen Magazine's circulation dipped below one million during the July-September 2016 time period.
