Umaru-chan's voice explains absence from social media for past 2 weeks

Voice actress Aimi Tanaka revealed on Wednesday that she was hospitalized and underwent an unspecified surgery sometime in the past two weeks, but that she has fully recovered and has returned to work. She described her hospitalization as a "hellish time."

She revealed the hospitalization on her Twitter and Instagram accounts to explain why she has not posted anything on her social media feeds for the past two weeks.

Tanaka debuted in her first major leading role as the titular character Umaru Doma in the Himouto! Umaruchan anime in 2015, a role she reprised in the 2017 Himōto! Umaru-chan R sequel anime. She has also played roles in such anime as Active Raid Second (Marimo Kaburagi), Show By Rock!!# (Paypain), Chō Shōnen Tantei-dan NEO (Baaya-san), Pikaia!! (Wendy), Twin Angels BREAK (Koromi Ukari, RunRun), PRECARIOUS WOMAN EXECUTIVE MISS BLACK GENERAL (Black General), Two Car (Megumi Meguro), Anima Yell! (Akane Sawatari), and How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno (Tanaka).
