The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! Manga Listed as Ending in 10th Volume

Kazuki, Kogetaokoge launched manga based on Shirow Shiratori's novels in 2015

Amazon is listing the 10th compiled book volume of Kazuki and Kogetaokoge's Ryuoh no Oshigoto! manga as the last volume. The volume will ship on August 9.

The manga adapts Shirow Shiratori's The Ryuo's Work Is Never Done! light novels. Kadokawa's BookWalker Global is releasing the novels digitally, and it describes the story:

The Ryuo's Work Is Never Done! is about a teenage boy named Yaichi Kuzuryuu who happens to be the strongest shogi player in history, holding the top title of “Ryūō” (Dragon King). One fateful day, shogi-loving elementary student, Ai Hinatsuru, appears before him claiming that he promised to be her master. But was such a promise really ever made? Thus began their master and disciple relationship!

Who can match their level of intensity and passion for shogi?

Kazuki and Kogetaokoge launched the manga in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine in October 2015. Square Enix published the manga's ninth compiled book volume on February 13.

SB Creative's GA Bunko label began releasing the original novels in 2015. Shirow provides the story, and Shirabi illustrates the novels. SB Creative published the novels' 10th volume on February 14, and will publish the 11th volume on August 9. BookWalker Global published the eighth volume digitally in English on June 25.

The novels inspired a television anime adaptation in January 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
