Yōkō Akiyama draws spinoff manga in Jump Giga, Saikyō Jump magazines

This year's 33rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Saturday that Yōkō Akiyama (Saguri-chan Tankentai) will launch a spinoff manga of Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia manga, titled My Hero Academia: Team Up Mission.

The manga will get a prologue chapter in the Summer Volume 2 issue of Shueisha's Jump Giga magazine on July 25, and then the manga will start its serialization in the September issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine on August 2. The new spinoff manga is commemorating the fifth anniversary of the main manga.

Horikoshi launched the superhero manga series My Hero Academia in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print.

The manga has inspired three television anime seasons, and the fourth season will premiere on October 12. The My Hero Academia: Two Heroes film opened in Japan in August 2018, and the My Hero Academia the Movie -Heroes: Rising- film will open on December 20.

The manga has also inspired the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia Smash!! spinoff manga and the My Hero Academia: School Briefs novel series, all of which Viz Media is releasing in English.
