Anime debuts in new Gundam Channel on YouTube in October; story set 2 years after previous anime

Sunrise announced on Wednesday that Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE, the new Gundam Build franchise work, will start streaming on Sunrise's new "Gundam Channel" YouTube channel in October. The anime's official website revealed a new promotional video, visual, staff, and characters for the anime.

The anime is set two years after the story of Gundam Build Divers, with a new version of the "Gunpla Battle Nexus Online" (GBN) game, and new Divers: Hiroto, a lone Diver who plays like a mercenary; Kazami, a wanderer who goes between parties; May, a mysterious solo Diver who participates in Gunpla Battles all day; and Parviz, a beginner Diver who has an introverted attitude but desires co-op play. While all four live solitary existences, they are brought together by circumstance to form a team in an experience that goes beyond GBN.

Kazuhiro Hara (Log Horizon) is drawing the original character designs, and Shuri Toida (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans episode animation director) is designing the characters for animation. Gundam.info describes the story:

Gunpla Battle Nexus Online (GBN) is a new network game that lets people enjoy a variety of missions using Gunpla in a virtual cyberspace dimension. Middle-school students Riku Mikami and Yukio Hidaka recruit their classmate Momoka Yashiro and dive together into this vast world. Becoming "Divers," or inhabitants of GBN, they meet a mysterious girl named Sarah who has an amazing sensitivity to Gunpla. They begin playing alongside her, but...
Through many encounters and experiences, Riku and his friends will build not only Gunpla, but their own adventures as well!

Sunrise and Right Stuf released two of the previous Gundam Build series, Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Fighters Try, on home video with English dubs.

The Gundam Build Fighters: GM no Gyakushū (GM's Counterattack) film focuses on Sei Iori and the original cast of Gundam Build Fighters in a new story. The film opened in Japan in August 2017. The five-episode Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue short net anime series also premiered in August 2017. Both projects were part of an overall Gundam Build _Extra Battle project.
