Expansion launches for PS4, Xbox One on September 6

Capcom began streaming on Wednesday two videos for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the new expansion for the Monster Hunter World game. The videos preview the monster Glavenus (Dinovaldo) and the new base Seliana as a Felyne dances around its multiple areas.

The expansion will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6 and for PC via Steam in January 2020. The expansion will feature a new story that begins after the events of the main game, as well as new quest ranks, locales, monsters, moves, and equipment.

Monster Hunter World launched worldwide on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January 2018, and shipped 5 million copies worldwide (including digital sales) in its first three days to set a new franchise record. Capcom then launched the game for PC last August. The game has shipped 12 million copies worldwide as of May 10. The Monster Hunter series has cumulatively shipped 54 million copies worldwide as of March 31.
