Pokémon Sword/Shield Games' Video Previews New Battle Features

Games ship on November 15

The Pokémon Company began streaming a new trailer for the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Nintendo Switch role-playing games on Friday. The video previews abilities for new Pokémon, new held items, and the new Dynamax battle feature.

The games' official website also revealed the Battle Stadium, which will let players around the world battle and compete with each other. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required to use the Battle Stadium.

The games will ship worldwide on November 15.

The starter Pokémon in the games' new Galar region will be Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. The previously revealed new Pokémon in the games will also include Wooloo, Gossifleur, Eldegoss, Drednaw, Corviknight, the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, Galarian Weezing, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Linoone, Obstagoon, and Morpeko. New features will include Dynamax and Max Raid Battles, Gigantamaxing, and Poké Jobs.

The Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! games, the franchise's first games for the Nintendo Switch, shipped on November 16. The games are set in the Kanto region of the first Pokémon games, and are specifically based on 1998's Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition.
