Toonami Premieres Dr. Stone Anime on August 24

Anime debuted in Japan on July 5

Adult Swim's Toonami programming block announced on Friday that the television anime of Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi's Dr. Stone manga will premiere on Toonami on August 24 at 12:00 a.m. EDT (effectively August 25).

Toonami will have the following schedule on that day:

11:00 p.m. – Dragon Ball Super
11:30 p.m. – gen:LOCK
12:00 a.m. – Dr. Stone
12:30 a.m. – Fire Force
1:00 a.m. – Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
1:30 a.m. – Black Clover
2:00 a.m. – Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
2:30 a.m. – Naruto Shippūden
3:00 a.m. – Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin
3:30 a.m. – Lupin the Third: Part 5
4:00 a.m. – My Hero Academia

The Dr. Stone anime debuted on July 5. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs, and Funimation is streaming a simuldub of the anime.

One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he's not alone! His science-loving friend Senku's been up and running for a few months and he's got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!

Shinya Iino (storyboards, episode director on Hanebad!, Revue Starlight, Made in Abyss) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment. Yuichiro Kido (episode scripts for Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, After the Rain, 91 Days) is in charge of series composition and is writing the scripts. Yuko Iwasa (Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Yowamushi Pedal) is designing the characters. Tatsuya Katō (WorldEnd, Revue Starlight), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Children of the Whales, Anima Yell!), and Yuki Kanesaka (Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond insert songs) are composing the music. Burnout Syndromes (Gintama Season 4, Haikyu!! Second Season, Haikyu!! third season) are performing the opening theme song "Good Morning World!," and Rude-α is performing the ending theme song "LIFE."
