Katamari Damacy Creator Keita Takahashi's Wattam Game Reveals Trailer, December Launch

"3D action game with interactive sound" launches on PS4, PC

PlayStation's State of Play livestream presentation revealed on Tuesday a new trailer for Funomena and Annapurna Interactive's Wattam game from Katamari Damacy game creator Keita Takahashi and video game designer Robin Hunicke. The video reveals that the game will launch for PlayStation 4 in December. The Epic Games Store also lists that the game is also launching for PC in December.

The game follows the Mayor of Wattam and will feature solo and co-op play. Takahashi first developed the idea of "making connections between different types of things" with his friend Vikram. The title comes from both Japanese and Tamil words for “making a circle” or “making a loop.”

Takahashi and Hunicke first announced the game in December 2014. The original announcement describes Wattam as a "3D action game with interactive sound."

Takahashi's Katamari Damacy rolling puzzle game inspired seven sequels in North America and Japan for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and mobile devices. He also directed and designed Noby Noby Boy and Tenya Wanya Teens.
