Legend of the Galactic Heroes Anime's 2nd 'Season' Reveals New Visual, Images

1st film in 3-film series opened in Japan on Friday

The staff for The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Seiran (The New Thesis: Stellar War), a series of three films that comprises the second "season" of the new anime of Yoshiki Tanaka's epic science fiction novels Legend of the Galactic Heroes, revealed the main visual and screenshots for the second film at the first film's first-week stage greetings at the Shinjuku Piccadilly theater on Saturday.

The first film opened in Japan on Friday. The next two films will open on October 25 and November 29, respectively. Each film will have a length of four television episodes. Crunchyroll screened "episode 0" and "episode 13" of the new anime in early September at Crunchyroll Expo. The site began streaming the anime under the title The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Second on Thursday in the following territories: U.S., Canada, South Africa, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, and Central and South America.

The first season, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Kaikō (The New Thesis: Star-Crossed), aired as a 12-episode series that premiered in April 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Funimation streamed an English dub.

Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko's Basketball, STARMYU) is directing the anime at Production I.G. Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Kuroko's Basketball) is in charge of the series scripts. Yoko Kikuchi (Junjō Romantica, Kuroko's Basketball, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - The World's Greatest First Love), Iwao Teraoka (The Brave Police J-Decker guest character designs, Kuroko's Basketball storyboarder), and Katsura Tsushima (Kuroko's Basketball episode animation director) are designing the characters, and Takayuki Goto (Kuroko's Basketball, Blood-C) is serving as chief animation director.
