Clip features insert song "Twinkle Stars" for October 19 film

The official YouTube channel for the Precure franchise began streaming a clip from Star Twinkle Precure: Hoshi no Uta ni Omoi wo Komete (Star ☆ Twinkle Precure the Movie: Put Your Feelings into the Song of Stars), the anime film companion to the Star ☆ Twinkle Precure anime series, on Friday. The clip shows the five main characters dancing to the insert song "Twinkle Stars." (The song will also the television anime's ending theme song starting this Sunday.)

The film will open in Japan on October 19.

The film's story will center on the Precures meeting a UMA ("unidentified mysterious animal," pronounced "yūma," pictured center in poster at right). The five Precures deepen their bond with the creature through song.

Yūta Tanaka (Go! Princess Precure, Eiga Mahō Tsukai Precure! Kiseki no Henshin! Cure Mofurun!) is directing the film. Toei stated that the film's theme will be "bonds," and will feature the "most painful and warm" story in the film series so far.

Rina Chinen will play the new character and Starry Sky police officer Mary Anne (Note: name romanization not confirmed), and she will also perform the film's song "Twinkle Stars." The following guest cast members also play alien UMA hunters: Takayuki Hamatsu, Yui Ishikawa, Shunsuke Sakuya, Jin Katagiri, and Ryūsuke Komakine.

Star ☆ Twinkle Precure is the 16th and newest Precure (Pretty Cure) television anime series, and it premiered on February 3.

The story of Star ☆ Twinkle Precure begins when the protagonist Hikaru meets aliens Lala, Prunce, and Fuwa while watching the night sky. She learns of the "Star Palace," where the 12 Star Princesses of the constellations kept the balance of the universe until they were attacked. Lala is searching for the legendary Precure warriors to help find the 12 scattered "Princess Star Color Pens" and revive the princesses. When Fuwa is captured by an enemy, Hikaru wishes to save Fuwa, and a Star Color Pendent and a Star Color Pen appear to allow her to transform into Cure Star. From then on she works to collect the pens and raise Fuwa, who is the key to reviving the princesses.
