The official website for the Re:Zero anime revealed on Friday that people who attend screenings of Re:Zero Hyōketsu no Kizuna (Frozen Bonds) original video anime (OVA) episode from November 8 to 14 will receive a novel. Light novel author Tappei Nagatsuki wrote the 96-page novel titled Re:ZERO Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu: Hyōketsu no Kizuna Before Memories.

People who attend screenings from November 15 to 21 will receive one of four B5-size Emilia notebooks with art by the anime's character designer Kyuta Sakai. Both theater bonus items will be available while supplies last.

The anime will screen in theaters in Japan starting on November 8.

The OVA will adapt the meeting between Emilia and Puck. The original Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Zenjitsu-tan: Hyōketsu no Kizuna prequel novel was included with the first Blu-ray Disc home video release of the television anime series in Japan.

The television anime is getting a second season.

Tappei Nagatsuki launched the original novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012. Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English, and is also releasing Daichi Matsuse's manga adaptation of the series, as well as the Re:Zero Ex spinoff light novel series.
