Nyanko-sensei ga Iku! Spinoff Manga Ends

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
4-panel comedy spinoff of Natsume's Book of Friends launched in November 2013

Hakusensha's Manga Park website and app published the 124th and final chapter of Junko Kanechiku's Nyanko-sensei ga Iku! manga on Monday. The manga's fifth and final compiled book volume will ship next spring.

The manga is a four-panel comedy spinoff of Yuki Midorikawa's Natsume's Book of Friends (Natsume Yūjin-Chō) manga. In the original manga, Nyanko-sensei is a powerful spirit that travels with Natsume in his pursuit of returning the spirits' names to their owners.

Kanechiku launched the manga in Hakusensha's LaLa Melody (later Hana LaLa Online) magazine in November 2013, and the manga moved to Manga Park in August 2018 along with the magazine's other content. Hakusensha published the manga's fourth compiled book volume on May 2.

Midorikawa's original Natsume's Book of Friends manga launched in Hakusensha's LaLa DX magazine in 2005, and moved to LaLa in 2008, where it has been serializing since. The manga has inspired six television anime seasons, and most recently, the Natsume Yujin-cho the Movie: Ephemeral Bond anime film.
