'Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun' Manga Gets Collaboration Spinoff Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Collaboration manga with "◯◯ no Shūyaku wa Wareware da!" game video group launches in January

The official Twitter account for Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun, the television anime of Osamu Nishi's Mairimashita! Iruma-kun manga, revealed on Thursday that the manga will get a new spinoff collaboration manga with the "◯◯ no Shuyaku wa Wareware da!" group that will debut in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in January. Atsu Tsudanuma will draw the manga, with supervision by Koneshima. Original author Osamu Nishi is credited for the original concept.

"◯◯ no Shuyaku wa Wareware da!" (We are the Main Characters of ◯◯!) are a group of video creators who upload "Let's Play" (footage of members of the group playing games with commentary) videos on Nico Nico Video and YouTube. The group began with Let's Play videos of the Hearts of Iron 2 strategy game titled "Dainiji Sekai Taisen no Shūyaku wa Wareware da!" (We are the Main Characters of the Second World War!). The group has since made videos on other video games and tabletop games.

The story of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun follows Iruma, a kind-hearted 14-year-old boy whose parents sell him to demons for their own selfish interests. However, the demon he is sold to has no grandson of his own, so he dotes on Iruma and sends him to demon school.

Nishi launched the original Mairimashita! Iruma-kun manga in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in March 2017, and Akita Shoten published the 12th compiled volume on September 6. The anime premiered on October 5, and it will have 23 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.
