Tenkasoul Project Reveals Promo Video, Start as Vocal Drama Format

Sony Music Japan began streaming the first promotional video on Friday for Tenkasoul, a new "sengoku rock action" project that will feature Fullmetal Alchemist anime director Seiji Mizushima as chief director.
The story of the project centers on three rock bands who are sent back in time from the present day to the sengoku (Warring States) era. The bands play a type of music called "Tenka" to inspire the military troops.

The project will start as an audio drama CD project that will also feature music, with the first CD shipping on January 8, 2020. The franchise will have a booth at the Animate Girls Festival 2019 event on November 9-10.
Yun Kouga, the creator of the Loveless manga and Mizushima's character design collaborator on Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Un-Go, is credited for the new project's character designs and "coordination." Hifumi's Tō Amane is credited with the original story, and Sacra Music and Hifumi are planning the project.

The staff have not specified if the project will include other media, but Mizushima teased when the project was announced in May that the project will be a new type of challenge different than anything he has done thus far, and an adventure that he could not tackle until now. Kouga added that she and this group of trusted partners are making a new form of entertainment with all their efforts.
