Square Enix's 1st Development Division Works on New Action Game for Consoles

Square Enix's official website revealed that the company's First Development Division is working on an unannounced title for HD consoles. A recruitment page for the development team states that the game with new intellectual property will feature a "next-generation action game experience." The page noted that "experts in various fields with development experience with 'AAA class' titles are gathering from all over the world" for the project.
The recruitment page also notes the First Development Division's work on the Final Fantasy VII Remake (seen right), Kingdom Hearts, SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS, Romancing SaGa 3, and Romancing SaGa Re; Universe games.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake game will launch worldwide on PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020. Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in an interview last November that the remake was the next PR priority for Square Enix after the release of Kingdom Hearts III this past January. Nomura is returning to the remake game as its director after serving as the character designer for the original game, and Kazushige Nojima is also returning to write the scenario. Square Enix stated in a Japanese news post for the game in May, "production is underway on the work as multiple parts."
Square Enix's Osaka unit also posted three job positions on its website for what it is calling an "HD development for the Kingdom Hearts series." The job listings are for UI Designers, Effects Designers, and Technical Artists. Square Enix released Kingdom Hearts III on January 25 in Japan for the PS4 and Xbox One, and on January 29 in the West. The game will get DLC titled "Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind," which will launch this winter.
Square Enix will release the Romancing SaGa 3 game for the PS4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, iOS, and Android on November 11. The company released the SaGa SCARLET GRACE: AMBITIONS for the PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android in Japan in August 2018, and the game will debut in the West on December 3. The Romancing SaGa Re; Universe smartphone game launched in Japan in December 2018.
