Bakutsuri Hunters game launches with fishing rod peripheral on December 7

Bandai began streaming an animated promotional video for the Bakutsuri Hunters Nintendo Switch game on Friday. The video centers on the Bakutsuri prodigy Black (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto) and his companion Nagi (voiced by Satsumi Matsuda, a Giga Fish cook. Takuya Kirimoto narrates the video.

Kenji Seto returned from the Bakutsuri Bar Hunter television anime to direct the video at Toei Animation and Gallop. Akemi Yokota again designed the characters, and Takatsugu Wakabayashi also returned to compose the music.

The "3D action fishing game" will launch in Japan on December 7. Players will be able to download and play the game with the Bakutsuri Giga Rod peripheral. The Bakutsuri Giga Rod connects with a Joy-Con controller to simulate a fishing rod.

The Bakutsuri Hunters manga launched in the December issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine on Friday. Sabakan Suzuki previously drew a Bakutsuri Bar Hunter manga (seen right) in the magazine that launched in March 2018 and ended on May 15.

The multimedia franchise is a collaboration between Bandai, Shogakukan, and Toei Animation, and includes an anime, a manga, a game, and a toy line. Toei Animation is in charge of the anime, which premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliates in October 2018 and ended in March.

Bandai began releasing the toy line starting with the "Bakutsuri Bar Rod" in March 2018. The Bakutsuri Bar Rod is an attachment for a player's Nintendo 3DS, and players can then download a free Bakutsuri Bar Hunter game for the 3DS to play the game.
