NICO Touches the Walls Band Breaks Up After 15 Years

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The official website for the band NICO TOUCHES THE WALLS announced on Friday that the group is breaking up. A joint statement from the band's members said, "These 15 years and the works we've made are an irreplaceable treasure for us." The members described a "feeling of wanting to go see new scenery" as individuals.

The band was founded in April 2004 with vocalist and guitarist Tatsuya Mitsumura, guitarist Daisuke Furumura, and bassist Shingo Sakakura. Drummer Shōtarō Tsushima joined the band that July. The group made their major debut with the mini album How Are You? in November 2007, and they held their first concert at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan complex in March 2010. The band released their most recent album Quizmaster this past June.

The four-member band performed theme songs for the Haikyu!!, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Naruto Shippūden, The Heroic Legend of Arslan, C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility, and Captain Earth anime series.
