The January 2020 issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine announced on Saturday that Nao Maita will launch a new manga titled Otona wa Wakattekurenai. (Adults Don't Understand.) in the magazine's February 2020 issue, which will ship on December 28. The new manga will have 45 pages including an opening color page. The manga will also feature on the cover of the issue.

The manga centers on a girl named Tsumugi who enters a private school for high-class families, and has a fated encounter that will change her life.

Maita ended her Age 12 (12-Sai.) manga in the magazine in October. Maita launched the manga in 2012, and the series entered a new "finale" arc titled 12-Sai. ~Sotsugyō~ (Age 12 Graduation) in March. The manga won Best Children's Manga at the 64th Shogakukan Manga Awards this year.

Age 12 inspired the 12-Sai: Chiccha na Mune no Tokimeki (Age 12: A Little Heart-Pounding) television anime in 2016, two original video anime series, and a live-action DVD special.

Maita launched a new manga titled Junjō Girlfriend in the Ciao Deluxe magazine on March 20.
