Ani-One Streams To Your Eternity, 'Backflip!!' Anime in April

To Your Eternity will stream on April 13 at 8:30 a.m. IST, Backflip!! on April 8 at 10:55 p.m. IST

Hong Kong content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited's Ani-One YouTube channel announced on Facebook on Monday that it will stream the television anime of Yoshitoki Oima's To Your Eternity (Fumetsu no Anata e) manga on April 13 at 8:30 a.m. IST and announced on Tuesday that it began streaming the Bakuten!! (Backflip!!) original television anime on April 8 at 10:55 p.m. IST.

Alongside India and Hong Kong, Ani-One will stream both anime in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan. The channel will stream Backflip!! in Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore as well.

To Your Eternity was originally slated to premiere in October last year, but it was delayed to April 2021 due to the anime's production schedule being heavily affected by the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The anime will premiere on NHK Educational on April 12.

The show will have 20 episodes.

Masahiko Murata (Naruto Shippūden, Baby Steps) is directing the anime at Brain's Base. Shinzō Fujita (Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children, Duel Masters Cross) is in charge of the series scripts, and Koji Yabuno (Space Brothers, Naruto Shippūden: Blood Prison) is designing the characters. Ryo Kawasaki (Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia-, Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation) is composing the music, and Takeshi Takadera is directing the sound. Masashi Hamauzu composed and arranged the ending theme song "Mediator."

Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

A new manga from the creator of the acclaimed A Silent Voice, featuring intimate, emotional drama and an epic story spanning time and space…
A lonely boy wandering the Arctic regions of North America meets a wolf, and the two become fast friends, depending on each other to survive the harsh environment. But the boy has a history, and the wolf is more than meets the eye as well… To Your Eternity is a totally unique and moving manga about death, life, reincarnation, and the nature of love.

Ōima launched the manga in November 2016 in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The manga's first arc ended in December 2019, and the second arc launched in January 2020. The manga won the Best Shōnen Manga award at the 43rd annual Kodansha Manga Awards in May 2019. The manga also ranked on the American Library Association's (ALA's) Young Adult Library Services Association's (YALSA) 2019 list of Great Graphic Novels for Teens.

Backflip!! will premiere on Fuji-TV's Noitamina programming block on April 8.

The anime, which is set in Miyagi prefecture, is one of three anime projects part of the larger "Zutto Ōen Project 2011 + 10..." initiative aimed at promoting Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima (the other two anime projects are Misaki no Mayoiga and Hula Fulla Dance). The "Zutto Ōen Project 2011 + 10..." is in remembrance of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami 10 years ago.

The anime is set in Miyagi prefecture's Iwanuma city, and centers on a high school rhythmic gymnastics team. The anime follows Shōtarō Futaba, who is fascinated by gymnastics after seeing it in his third year of middle school, and joins the rhythmic gymnastics team of his new high school Sōshūkan High School, nicknamed "Ao High." He makes a friend with his schoolmate Ryōya Misato, who earned fame as a gymnast during middle school.

Toshimasa Kuroyanagi (The Great Passage, Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare) is directing the anime at ZEXCS. Toshizo Nemoto (Log Horizon season 2, Macross Delta, Last Hope) is in charge of series composition and scripts. My Little Monster manga creator Robico is drawing the original character designs, while Yuki Shibata (Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season, Magical Sisters Yoyo & Nene, After the Rain) is drawing the character designs for animation, and is also the chief animation director. Fumiaki Kouta is the animation director for the rhythmic gymnastics. Yuki Hayashi is composing the music. The band Centimillimental are performing the opening theme song "Seishun no Enbu" (The Dance of Youth), and wacci are performing the ending theme song "Anata ga Iru" (You Are Here).

Kei Sakuraba is drawing a manga adaptation, which premiered in Kodansha's Dessert magazine on January 22.
