Komi to draw 'Vivi's Adventure' chapter from Alabasta arc

This year's 38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Nisekoi manga creator Naoshi Komi will draw a "cover chapter" for Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga. The "Vivi no Bōken" (Vivi's Adventure) chapter will be the latest in an ongoing "Cover Comic Project" for One Piece, and Shueisha will publish the chapter in the magazine's 39th issue on August 31.

Komi's "Vivi no Bōken" (Vivi's Adventure) cover chapter will be from the Alabasta arc, and will cover "that famous scene" after the long fight is over. The chapter will be 48 pages long including a color page.

Shueisha also revealed that a new chapter of the Shokugeki no Sanji manga from Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma creators Yūto Tsukuda, Shun Saeki, and Yuki Morisaki will launch in the 40th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on August 30. Addtionally, a chapter of Sōhei Kōji's One Piece Gakuen (One Piece Academy) manga will appear in the 41st issue on September 6. The manga normally runs in Saikyō Jump.

Boichi (Dr. Stone, Origin, Sun-Ken Rock) previously drew the first cover chapter in the project in July 2020. Boichi's one-shot was titled "Roronoa Zoro: Umi ni Chiru" (Fall Into the Ocean), and the manga focused on a fight between Zoro and Mihawk. The chapter had 46 pages including a center color page. Viz Media published the manga in English digitally.

Komi ended Nisekoi - False Love in August 2016 and then published a one-shot manga titled "Tokidoki" that October. Viz's Shonen Jump published both Nisekoi and "Tokidoki" in English.

Nisekoi inspired two television anime seasons. The anime's first season premiered in Japan in January 2014 with 20 episodes, while the 12-episode second season premiered in Japan in April 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the first series, and Aniplex streamed the second series on the Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Daisuki services. Aniplex released both anime series on Blu-ray Disc.
