Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku Rhythm Game Gets Mini Anime

Petit Seka to stream 10 episodes on YouTube for free

The "Project Sekai Anniversary Festa 2021" event announced on Sunday that production on a mini anime adaptation of Sega's Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku smartphone rhythm game has been green-lit. The 10 planned episodes of Petit Seka (Puchi Seka) will stream for free on YouTube.

The anime will feature the characters from the game in super-deformed "2.5-heads-high" form, and the anime will have more of a gag comedy ambience compared the game itself. Sunday's event teased that all the game's musical units will appear in the anime.

The game takes place in Sekai, a world that realizes people's true feelings. There are many Sekai, and each one's form is based on different emotions. Virtual singers perform songs by creators in the real world. The singers change their appearance based on the owner's feelings, and they help the creators discover their true feelings. Untitled songs are born at the same time as Sekai, but they are silent with no melody or lyrics. When the owner discovers his or her true feelings, the feelings become a titled song.

The game is a collaboration between Sega, Crypton Future Media, and Colorful Palette, a subsidiary of Craft Egg. It launched in Japan in September 2020, and it will launch worldwide this year.
