Discotek Releases Ninja Senshi Tobikage, Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno, Appleseed, More on BD on January 25

posted on by Alex Mateo

Discotek announced on Friday that it will release the Ninja Senshi Tobikage (Ninja Robots), Urusei Yatsura: Remember My Love, Case Closed: Sunflowers of Inferno (Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno), Appleseed and KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple season 2 anime on Blu-ray Disc on January 25, 2022.

The Ninja Senshi Tobikage (Ninja Robot) release will include all 43 episodes in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. The release includes the English dub by Alexander Entertainment Group that aired in Cartoon Network in India and Asia for the first 20 episodes. Discotek Media sought assistance in tracking down the rest of the dub, and it was mostly able to recover the English dub. The company had also issued a call for dub recordings for the second half of the show. As a result, there are newly dubbed portions of the series.

Discotek is releasing the Urusei Yatsura: Only You, Urusei Yatsura: Remember My Love, Urusei Yatsura: Lum The Forever, Urusei Yatsura: The Final Chapter, and Urusei Yatsura: Always My Darling films with English subtitles and the English dubs from the previous AnimEigo releases. The films debuted between 1983 and 1991. AnimEigo released all five films on DVD. Discotek released the franchise's second film, Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer, on Blu-ray Disc in February 2018. Central Park Media previously released the film on VHS and DVD.

Discotek's release of Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno, the 19th film in the franchise from 2015, will have a new English dub featuring cast from recent releases of anime in the franchise.

Discotek's release of the 1988 original video anime (OVA) Appleseed will include both the English dub and the Japanese track with English subtitles. Kazuyoshi Katayama wrote and directed Appleseed based on Masamune Shirow's manga. Manga Entertainment previously released the OVA in North America on VHS and DVD.

KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple will be an upscale release of the television anime. The release will include all 25 episodes of the anime's second season in Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub. Discotek released the first season on Blu-ray Disc on August 31.
