Ani-One Simulcasts The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest, Sasaki and Miyano Anime

The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest will stream on January 8, Sasaki and Miyano on January 10

Hong Kong content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited's Ani-One YouTube channel announced on Tuesday that it will begin streaming the television anime of Shinkoshoto's The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest (Shikkaku Mon no Saikyō Kenja) light novel series on January 8 and the television anime of Shō Harusono's Sasaki and Miyano manga on January 10.

Alongside Hong Kong and India, both anime will stream in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.

The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest will also stream in the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and Samoa. Sasaki and Miyano will also stream in Fiji, Mauritius, New Caledonia, and Seychelles.

The The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest anime will premiere on January 8 at 10:00 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and BS11, before airing on Sun TV and AT-X. The series will stream on ABEMA and other services.

The world's most powerful sage decided to reincarnate in the future world for greater magical power. Reborn as Mathias, he unfortunately discovered that knowledge of magic has drastically deteriorated in this era, and his crest was regarded as the weakest one?! Matthias is going to show us his incredible power!

The main cast members are:

Noriaki Akitaya is directing the anime at J.C. Staff, and Hiroki Uchida is supervising the series scripts.

The duo fripSide is performing the opening theme song "Leap of faith." Voice actress Yuki Nakashima is performing the ending theme song "Day of Bright Sunshine."

Square Enix Manga & Books is publishing the manga adaptation by LIVER JAM&POPO (Friendly Land).

Shinkoshoto launched the story on the Shōsetsu ni Narō! website, and SB Creative's GA Novel imprint began publishing the story with illustrations by Huuka Kazabana in 2016. LIVER JAM&POPO launched the manga adaptation in 2017.

The anime series is getting a smartphone game titled Shikkaku Mon no Saikyō Kenja: The Ultimate Reincarnation. The iOS and Android game will be free-to-play with optional in-game purchases.

The Sasaki and Miyano anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, and Sun TV on January 9, on BS NTV on January 10, and on AT-X on January 11. It will also begin streaming on U-NEXT on January 9.

Ani-One describes the anime:

Miyano is a high school junior who secretly loves BL manga and has a feminine looking face. An encounter made senior Sasaki who knows nothing about BL inexplicably fascinated by him. A love story between these two high school boys is going to begin!

Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Talentless Nana) is directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Takahiro Ueno is the assistant director. Yoshiko Nakamura (Super Lovers, Shōnen Maid, Tada Never Falls in Love) is in charge of series composition. Maki Fujii (I've Always Liked You, The Moment You Fall in Love, Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart.) is designing the characters.

The five-member band Miracle Chimpanzee is performing the opening theme song "Mabataki" (Blink) is the band's first single on a major label, while Yusuke Shirai and Sōma Saitō are performing the ending character theme song "Ichigo Sunset" (Strawberry Sunset) as their respective characters.

Harusono launched the manga on the pixiv website in 2016. Kotoko Hachijō penned a novel adaptation that shipped in March 2020. The Hirano to Kagiura spinoff manga about two side characters launched in 2019 and runs in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine. That spinoff manga has in turn inspired its own novel.
