Live Candlelight Performances of Anime Music in London in May

Performances of Joe Hisaishi's music on Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22

Tickets are available for performances of the live music concert, "Candlelight: The Best of Joe Hisashi," at the Butchers' Hall venue in Bart's Square, near the Museum of London and the Barbican station (map). There will be 65-minute performances on Saturday May 21 at 8.30 p.m. and on Sunday May 22 at 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.

The performances will be by the City String Ensemble string quartet. The event is described as follows:

"Enjoy a unique experience under the glimmer of candlelight during this exclusive Candlelight concert with music from Joe Hisaishi, the genius composer who gave Studio Ghibli its sound. A string quartet will perform works from memorable animation works and composers in the heart of London. "

The tentative programme includes:

Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Ponyo, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke

The event is open to 8 year-olds and over; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
