London IMAX Screenings of Akira Next Monday

Tickets are available for two Digital 4K screenings of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's 1988 film Akira at London's BFI IMAX cinema (near Waterloo station) on Monday July 4. The screenings are at 3 p.m. and 6.15 p.m. Both screenings will be in Japanese with English subtitles
The film was originally released in Japan in 1988, directed by Katsuhiro Ōtomo and adapted from his own epic manga. The film is described as follows:
"Katsuhiro Ôtomo's seminal anime – a striking, hyperkinetic adaptation of his own manga – almost single-handedly introduced the genre to audiences outside of Japan. It's 2019, and in a dazzling Neo-Tokyo bikers cruise the Blade Runner-esque streets and do battle with military scientists and a telekinetic child.
