posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also Collector's Blu-ray of the second season of Emma: A Victorian Romance and Collector's Blu-ray of the Magic Knight Rayearth TV series

On Monday August 29, MVM will release the 24-part series Vinland Saga as a Collector's Blu-ray, including a 176-page book and six art cards. Sentai Filmworks has described the series:

"Raised on tales of the legendary land of Vinland, where warmth and plenty abound, young Thorfinn dreams of leaving behind the cold climate of Iceland and venturing into the great unknown. But when Viking sails appear on the horizon, the young boy is conscripted into a life of violence and brutality at the hands of merciless Viking Askalaad. With nothing left to him save revenge, Thorfinn swears vengeance against the man who slew his family, plunging headlong into a sprawling, blood-soaked, coming-of-age epic that marches to the drums of war."

Makoto Yukimura launched the series in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2005, but Kodansha moved the series to Afternoon later that year. Yukimura started drawing the fourth and final arc of the manga in November 2019. Kodansha published the manga's 26th compiled book volume on May 23. The series has over 7 million copies in circulation. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English.

Anime Limited will release Limited and Ultimate Blu-ray editions of the complete Blood-C anime. Both editions will contain both the 2011 Blood-C TV series (12 episodes), directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, and the sequel cinema film Blood-C: The Last Dark, directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani, Both the series and film were animated by Production I.G

The Ultimate (but not Limited) edition is only sold on the AllTheAnime website and is restricted to 500 units. It will include a 144-page "Materials Archive Book," a guide to the art and creation of the series.

Anime Limited describes the original series:

"Horrifying beasts with a hunger for human flesh prey on the citizens of a quiet town. In moonlit twilight, Saya slays the monsters and returns home drenched in blood. As the attacks increase in frequency and intensity, her enemies relay cryptic messages about a broken contract. Limbs are torn from flesh and skulls are crushed and devoured while the huntress struggles with paralyzing visions and gaping holes in her memory."

Anime Limited will also release a Collector's Blu-ray edition of the second season of Emma: A Victorian Romance. It will include a 44-page booklet. The company describes the story as follows (spoilers for the first season):

"In the faraway village of Haworth, a new chapter in Emma's life has begun. Now employed by the wealthy Mölders family, Emma has resolved to put the past behind her. She'll have to adjust to a new house, a charming (but eccentric) new mistress, and a host of fellow servants, some with buried pasts of their own. Meanwhile, back in London, William is doing his best to uphold his father's wishes as the Jones family heir, but try as he might, he can't forget Emma. Yet, whenever he feels at his worst, Eleanor is always there to comfort him with a warm, shy smile. Could the answer to his broken heart be right before his eyes?"

Anime Limited will also release a Limited Blu-ray edition of the 1994 TV series Magic Knight Rayearth, adapted from the fantasy manga by CLAMP, carrying the 49 episodes.
