Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Blu-ray Released on Monday (Updated)

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Anime Limited will release The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Crunchyroll will release season two of The Quintessential Quintuplets on Blu-ray, plus new editions of Fairy gone and Radiant

The original version of this article omitted Anime Limited's Collector's Blu-ray of The Irresponsible Captain Tylor TV series.

On Monday October 24, Crunchyroll will release Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card on Blu-ray, carrying the 22 episodes of the series.

This is a sequel to the original Card Captor Sakura anime series. Morio Asaka returned from the first television anime series and two films to direct the new series at Madhouse. CLAMP's Nanase Ohkawa handled the series composition and wrote the scripts. Kunihiko Hamada (animation director for previous TV series and two films) was the character designer with costume and card designs by CLAMP's Mokona. Masafumi Mima is directing the sound, and Takayuki Negishi composed the music. NHK, Kodansha, and NHK Enterprise produced.

Anime Limited will release a Collector's Blu-ray edition of the 1993 TV series The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. It will include a booklet with art from the series. Right Stuf, which released the title in America, described the anime:

"Earth's Fate Depends on One Man. But is he a Total Idiot? Or a Complete Genius? Shortly after enlisting in the prestigious United Planets Space Force, Tylor experiences a bizarrely meteoric rise through the ranks placing him as Captain of the Destroyer Soyokaze. He's excited to accept his new post, but little does he realize that the Soyokaze is just a dumping ground for misfits and other eccentrics that the military can't figure out what to do with. Fortunately for Tylor, he'd never planned on working very hard anyway, so it's a perfect fit!"

Yoshioka's Uchū Ichi no Musekinin Otoko (The Most Irresponsible Man in Space) novels inspired The Irresponsible Captain Tylor television anime in 1993, as well as a 10-episode OAV series that ran from 1994 to 1996.

Crunchyroll will also release the 12-part second season of the series The Quintessential Quintuplets on Blu-ray.

Crunchyroll will also release new Blu-ray and DVD editions of the 2019 P.A. Works series Fairy gone, carrying the 24 episodes of the series.

Finally, Crunchyroll will release new Blu-ray and DVD editions of Season One of Radiant, the 2018 series based on the French strip by Tony Valente.
