Redline Writer Katsuhito Ishii Will Visit London and Derby in July

The director Katsuhito Ishii, who conceived and scripted the anime film Redline, is visiting the UK in July to present two of his live-action films, Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl (pictured right, based on the manga by Minetarō Mochizuki), and Party 7. He will appear in Q&As that will accompany double-bills of these films, in London at the Prince Charles Cinema (Wednesday July 5, 6 p.m., tickets) and in Derby at the QUAD cinema (Friday July 7, 6 p.m., tickets).
Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl is described by the venues as follows:
"The debut film of Katsuhito Ishii! Legendary Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the Killer) plays the role of Samehada (Sharkskin) who, on the run himself from stealing Yakuza money, meets a girl who's on the run from her perverted boss. A tale of star-crossed lovers on the run from all sorts of crazy people."
Also in July, Third Window Films will release the Katsuhito Ishii Collection on July 17, including Blu-rays of both Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl and Party 7 as well as four of Ishii's other live-action films: Promise of August, Sorasoi, Hello Junichi and Norioka Workshop.
Katsuhito Ishii had multiple credits on Redline, including Script, Original creator, Character Design, Background Design and Machine Design. His other credits include character design on Kill Bill Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren, and being Creative Adviser on Lupin the IIIrd: Jigen's Gravestone, Lupin the IIIrd: Goemon's Blood Spray and Lupin the IIIrd: Fujiko Mine's Lie.
