Netflix described the anime:
The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) directed the anime at Trigger, while Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) was the character designer and animation director for the anime.
Hiromi Wakabayashi (Kill la Kill, Promare) was the creative director, Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions ‘The Elder’) and Yoshiki Usa (SSSS.Gridman, SSSS.Dynazenon creative director) were the scriptwriters, Hiroyuki Kaneko was the assistant director, Yūto Kaneko and Yusuke Yoshigaki was assistant character designers, and Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill games) was the music composer. Rock band Franz Ferdinand's song "This Fffire" served as the opening theme song.
Rafał Jaki was the showrunner, and was also executive producer alongside Dylan Thomas, Taiki Sakurai, and Yoshiki Usa. Satoru Homma, Bartosz Sztybor and Saya Elder were producers.

Set in contemporary Tokyo, the story concerns a pop singer, Mima, who tries to develop an acting career, only to experience threats and traumas as her mind breaks down and she is tormented by a ghostly version of her singer self.

The Fairy Tail anime series' director Shinji Ishihara was the chief director for this anime, while Toshinori Watanabe (Edens Zero, Mix: Meisei Story, Tokyo Ghoul:re) directed the new anime at J.C. Staff. Atsuhiro Tomioka, who wrote scripts for many episodes of the previous Fairy Tail anime, supervised the anime's scripts. Yurika Sako (Edens Zero) designed the characters. Shōji Hata returned from the previous series as the sound director, while Yasuharu Takanashi also returned for the music. Da-iCE performed the opening theme song "Story," and Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora performed the ending theme song "Tomo yo, Koko de Sayonara da" (My Friend, We Say Our Farewells Here).

Kumiko Habara (PriPri Chii-chan!!, Battle Spirits Burning Soul episode director) directed the anime at Maho Film. Takao Yoshioka (High School DxD, Your Lie in April, Konohana Kitan) was in charge of the series scripts. Eri Kojima and Toshihide Masudate (In Another World With My Smartphone) designed the characters, and Yūko Ōba drew the sub-character designs.
Yamakawa and Nao launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in June 2016.

“'I reincarnated as a sword…' After being reincarnated into another world, he is now a sword with wisdom. While seeking someone to become his wielder, he encountered Fran, a young cat-girl slave who was under attack by a monster. She discovered and used the sword to kill the monster. She named the sword Teacher, and the two embark on an adventure together."
Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Edens Zero) directed the anime at C2C. Takahiro Nagano (Duel Masters script writer) wrote and supervised the scripts. Atsuko Saitō (Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu, Wandering Witch - The Journey of Elaina episode animation director) designed the characters, and also served as chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi composed the music.

"Wangnan, a wannabe king, is desperate to reach the next level - him and everyone else on this floor. But on his last chance, a hardened FUG stands in the way. Everyone has a reason to climb, but is anyone's resolve strong enough to advance?"
Kazuyoshi Takeuchi (Armored Trooper Votoms: Alone Again) served as chief director for the new season, and Kei Suzuki replaced Takashi Sano as the director at The Answer Studio Co., Ltd. instead of Telecom Animation Film. Erika Yoshida (Bocchi the Rock!) was back in charge of the series scripts, and also co-wrote the scripts with added writers Takeshi Miyamoto and Riuji Yoshizaki. Miho Tanino returned from the first season to design the characters, this time with Seigo Kitazawa (City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust) and Isamitsu Kashima. Kitazawa was also the chief animation director. Kevin Penkin returned to compose the music.

"To make his debut as a Demon Lord, Rimuru hosts a festival featuring a banquet, a martial arts tournament, and a dungeon challenge with Veldora as the final boss. But as guests arrive, will Rimuru be able to distinguish between true allies and enemies?"
