Kotaro Lives Alone Author Mami Tsumura Launches New Manga

This year's 18th issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine announced on Friday Mami Tsumura will launch a new manga titled Tanosuke no Kawazanyō (Tanosuke's Overly Optimistic Estimation) in the 19th issue on September 11.
Tsumura launched the Ore no Baa-san (My Granny) story originally as a one-shot in 2025, before it launched as a manga series in Shogakukan's Big Comic Original magazine in March 2026. The series is ongoing, and is also available on the Big Comics website.
Tsumura launched the Kotarō wa Hitori Gurashi (Kotaro Lives Alone) manga in Big Comic Superior in 2015. The manga ended in June 2023. Shogakukan published the manga's 10th and final compiled book volume in August 2023. The series won an Electronic Manga Award in 2018.
The manga inspired a live-action series that debuted in April 2021. A second season premiered in April 2023.
The manga also inspired a Netflix anime series that debuted in March 2022.
