Plus New Releases of Shadow Skill, Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda

HOUSTON, January 10, 2006 —ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce a March 7 launch date for the action-comedy series UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, along with new releases for the fighting anime Shadow Skill and the hit TV series Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.

UFO ULTRAMAIDEN VALKYRIE: BEDLAM, BATHHOUSE AND BEYOND

Hilarious New Series from the Creator of Steel Angel Karumi

ADV is proud to announce the launch of a hilarious new action comedy series featuring a bevy of bathing beauties from beyond the stars! UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie: Bedlam, Bathouse and Beyond goes on sale March 7.

Created by Kaishaku (Steel Angel Kurumi) with characters designed by Maki Fujii (Strawberry Eggs), UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie is a fast-paced thrill ride that should appeal to fans of Maburaho. When Princess Valkyrie of the planet Valhalla crashes her spaceship into Earth teenager Kazuto Tokino, she saves his life by giving him half her soul. Of course there are side effects, foremost being her ensuing transformation from mighty princess warrior to mischievous eight-year old dependent on Kazuto for bed and board! Now this pair of unlikely soulmates must withstand an ever-increasing barrage of intergalactic suitors, servants, and rivals – and somehow find a way to keep the Tokino family bathhouse in business. Featuring equal parts action, comedy, and fan service, UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie has something for everyone!

Synopsis: Despite his parents' protests, Kazuto Tokino has taken it upon himself to run his late grandfather's bathhouse. But with no previous management experience, Kazuto must rely on his sunny disposition to keep his new business afloat. And when the alien Princess Valkyrie destroys the bathhouse, mortally wounding Kazuto in the process, dark clouds seem poised to rain on his parade of optimism. With a magical kiss, the princess saves Kazuto's life, but at a grave cost to her own: transformed into an 8 year old, she is stranded on Earth, unable to fend for herself. Now, with an entire solar system out searching for her shrunken highness, Kazuto must defend the Tokino bathhouse, not only from hordes of alien invaders, but also from his new, hyper-adorable, sugary-sweet little houseguest!

UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie: Bedlam, Bathouse and Beyond (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes one through four, presented in both English and Japanese with English subtitles. Video extras include “Valkyrie World Notes,” messages from the original Japanese actors, a music video segment, the on-air opening for episode 3, and the original Japanese TV commercials, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.

But does evil drive Solfan's army or is it hunger for Kurudan soil? Old friends return as the geriatric platoon of Jura forest must hold back an entire nation of have-nots hellbent on taking what Kuruda has: the power of Soma! And with war comes Gau's final lesson in his warrior's education… a crash course on killing! To become a warrior of legendary status how many must fall before him? Are a thousand souls enough? Will part of Gau have to die for him to be reborn… as the warrior known as “Black Howling”? Lots of questions, lots of answers… in the third battle-ready volume of Shadow Skill!
