Convention Has Opened Press Registration and Will Begin Seeking Donations for Charity Auction in the First Week of June


5/27/14 Breinigsville, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention”, is the Lehigh Valley's first and only large scale, annual anime convention. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania.

The convention promises to remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013 a safe haven for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2014. SaikouCon 2014 will feature many diverse and entertaining panels, workshops, activities, events, screenings, gaming tournaments, and much more!

The Adarna are giving away free MP3s of their fan favorite songs “Superman” and “Sugar”, the official music video for “Sugar” can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-17XQ6NEh4, to all pre-registered guests of SaikouCon 2014! Register while you can to receive these free songs from The Adarna, Pre-Registration is open until August 11, 2014 for all Basic Attendance Packages and until July 1, 2014 for all Deluxe, VIP, and All Access VIP Attendance Packages. Deluxe and VIP choices will not be available to at door registrants, nor will the exclusive music gifts from The Adarna, take advantage of these options and gifts while you can, there are three months remaining until it's SHOWTIME for SaikouCon 2014!

SaikouCon has also opened press registration for all media outlets, reporters and editors may submit press applications at www.saikoucon.com/press.html now through June 27, 2014. All accepted media outlets will be notified no later than July 7, 2014. Accepted press will then have just over a month to plan their coverage and arrange interviews with SaikouCon 2014's Guests of Honor, Featured Guests, and Musical Guests.

Beginning the first week of June SaikouCon will be actively seeking and accepting donations for their 2014 charity auction. The proceeds from the auction, to be held on August 24 as the last large event of the 2014 show, will benefit both St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Dave Thomas Foundation. The final amount raised from auctioned memorabilia and merchandise will be equally split between the hospital and Dave Thomas Foundation. SaikouCon's Guests of Honor for 2014 include RuffleButt Cosplay (Jessie Pridemore), Greg Houser (Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, Shiki, One Piece, Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~, and more), Bill Rogers (Pokémon, Boogie Pop Phantom, Gravitation, Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny, Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor, His and Her Circumstances, and more), Marc Swint (Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, Anime Abandon), Sonny Strait (Dragon Ball Z/GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Black Butler, Lupin III, One Piece, Ouran High School Host Club, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Hetalia - Axis Powers, Fairy Tail).

Featured Guests for SaikouCon 2014 are the Sci-Fi Photo Guys, the League of Hot Geeks, Cosplay Burlesque, and the Gamers! Edge from Stroudsburg, PA will be demoing various CCGs and leading games over the course of SaikouCon 2014.

Musical Guests confirmed to perform thus far are The Adarna who will be headlining this years Cosplay Concert as well as giving a special solo performance following SaikouCon 2014's Opening Ceremonies. Members of the band will also be presenting feature panels and workshops over the course of SaikouCon 2014. The Asterplace, from New York City, will be performing with The Adarna at SaikouCon 2014's Cosplay Concert on Saturday, August 23 at 10 pm.
