Sailor Moon Symphony: SeraSymphony Live! Concert

New York-based Orchestra Celebrates Classic Anime

NEW YORK, NY -- August 19, 2014 – One of Japan's most beloved animated television shows will be brought to life by a chamber music ensemble. iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra presents Sailor Moon Symphony: SeraSymphony Live!, an orchestral concert featuring the score from the popular 1992 anime Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon at 8pm Friday, Oct. 10, at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music in Manhattan. Originally conceived as a celebration of the show's 20th anniversary, the fan-made arrangement restructures themes and background music from all five seasons of the show into a five-movement symphony, complete with a concerto performed by violinist Christina Bouey and composer-pianist Yasuhiko Fukuoka. Artistic Director and arranger Bobbie Lee Crow III promises performances of favorites such as “Moonlight Legend” and “Sailor Star Song.”

The concert will be held in Mary Flagler Cary Hall inside The DiMenna Center for Classical Music at 450 West 37th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. Tickets are $20.00 at the door. Discounted tickets are available online at http://serasymphony.peatix.com. Space is limited.

ABOUT ICONIQ THE SOUNDTRACK ORCHESTRA: Proudly confessing their “unhealthy addiction to animation,” iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra is a flex-member chamber ensemble who pays tribute to anime, cartoon, or video game soundtracks every month with a newly-arranged medley. The “musical nerdfest's” coupling of classical virtuosity and geek fandom has caught the ears of fans and industry professionals alike including Child of Light Creative Director Patrick Plourde.
