SaikouCon Releases 2014 Attendance Numbers and will be a Sponsor of Halloween ComicFest 2014 at The Gamer's Edge Comics and Gaming
SaikouCon's Chair and Exec Coordinator, Michael Meade, set to judge Cosplay Contest at Gamer's Edge Halloween ComicFest Festivities
10/6/14 Breinigsville, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention”, is the Lehigh Valley's first and only large scale, annual anime convention. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania. The convention grew out of the now defunct, but soon to be relaunched, webzine Anime Ate My Brain Magazine; the sibling webzine to Tastes Like Rock! Music Magazine. Both journalistic endeavors fall under the newly renamed Nerdy Rock 'n Roller Publishing, which will be growing in diversity in 2015.
The convention promises to remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013 and 2014 a safe haven for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2015. SaikouCon 2015 will feature many diverse and entertaining panels, workshops, activities, events, screenings, gaming tournaments, and much more! Dates and venue for SaikouCon 2015 will be announced before the end of October 2014!
SaikouCon is happy to announce that the final tally for attendance of SaikouCon 2014, counting merchants, was 1,250 people! Thank you to everyone that attended SaikouCon 2014, we truly never expected to grow this fast in two years. 2015 will be even bigger and better with Guests of Honor, Featured Guests, and Musical Guests! Plus more diverse panels, more entertainment, more anime, more... EVERYTHING!
SaikouCon will be acting as one of the sponsors for The Gamer's Edge Comics and Gaming (located at 580 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360) Halloween ComicFest 2014 celebration. SaikouCon will be furnishing VIP tickets to SaikouCon 2015 for all winners of The Gamer's Edge's Cosplay Contest as part of the day's festivities. SaikouCon's chair and exec coordinator, Michael Meade will also be acting as a judge for the contest with Rick Bryant (inker for Superman, Micronauts, Archie Comics, Sonic The Hedgehog and more), Jan Julia (Kaleidoscope Players), and The Gamer's Edge's own Robin Kessler and Ray Ramaglia. "October 25th is coming up fast. Why is this important? Because it's a huge day at the Gamer's Edge!
Our two-year anniversary brings us great joy and we're setting up a ton of thank-you events for our beloved community.
Halloween Comic Fest brings free comics for everyone! We have a huge amount of free comic books to give out that are exclusive to this celebration!
Get your costumes ready for our Cosplay/Costume contest.

Group, Individual Anime/ Cartoon inspired Character, Individual Comic book/ Gaming inspired Character.
There is a $1.00 Fee for entering. Be prepared to introduce yourself and your character and give a small 1-2 minute presentation from or about your character or costume. This could be a small scene or a string of quotes or a description of how you made your costume.
First Place in each of the three categories wins a VIP pass to SaikouCon 2015!
Our illustrious judges include Mr. Mike Meade (Our sponsor from SaikouCon), Mr. Rick Bryant (Ink Artist for Superman, Micronauts, Archie, Sonic, etc.), Mrs. Jan Julia (Kaleidoscope Players), and our own Robin Kessler and Ray Ramaglia.

Also don't forget, SaikouCon will be holding another Saikou Cosplay Night at the Sam Adams Brew Pub (located within the Holiday Inn Conference Center Lehigh at 7736 Adrienne Drive, Breinigsville, PA 18031) on Halloween Night, Friday October 31 at 9 pm until the bar closes at 1 am on November 1, after the success of the first one held September 26. 21+ event, no cover charge, no drink minimum, and Karaoke by DJ Teez of KJ Entertainment. There will also be several activities and games presented by both SaikouCon and the Sam Adams, as well as activities presented by both individually. Anyone cosplaying a character from a horror or supernatural themed anime, manga, or video game receives free pocky from SaikouCon at the SaikouCon Merch Table set up by the Sam Adams' jukebox.
The convention will always feature some of the best live entertainment themed to Japanese culture and pop culture, as well as the best in J-Rock, J-Pop, and nerd/geek culture musical acts from all over the US and beyond.
All of this plus top creators, writers, artists, distributors, industry insiders, English dub and original Japanese voice talent, some of the best cosplay talent, shows, masquerades; and so much more!
