Anna Tsuchiya to Perform at Anime Matsuri in Houston

Houston, TX, March 4, 2015 – Anime Matsuri, the ninth largest anime convention in North America, is proud to welcome the illustrious Anna Tsuchiya as its main music talent for 2015! Anna will be performing live in concert on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Rounding out Anime Matsuri's music guests will be celebrity DJs Teddyloid and Heavygrinder, DisaCode, and Nylon Pink.

“Anna is the embodiment of all things beautiful at Anime Matsuri. She connects with so many of our fans because she bridges the J-Rock music, fashion, anime, and movies we grew up loving. She is a role model promoting uniqueness and self-acceptance,” said Anime Matsuri Guest Relations Director, Heidi Shimada.

Anna Tsuchiya is an award winning Japanese singer, model, and actress, best known for her role as Ichigo Shirayuri in the 2004 movie, Kamizake Girls. Tsuchiya debuted as a solo artist in 2005 with her album, Taste My Beat. Her single, “Rose,” the opening theme for the Nippon TV animation, NANA, charted at number six in Japan. Tsuchiya will be starring in Takashi Ishii's Gonin Saga in 2015, while on tour celebrating the Tenth Anniversary of her solo debut. This will be Tsuchiya's first appearance at Anime Matsuri, and her first full concert in the United States.

Anime Matsuri is an annual anime, Japanese culture and related arts convention based in Houston, Texas. We strive to bring the latest and greatest from Japan's catwalks, anime studios, and concert stages to our own backyard here in the United States. Anime Matsuri's inaugural event began in 2007. Since then, the convention has grown to over 19,000 unique attendees. With so many in attendance, we have recently made the George R. Brown Convention Center our permanent home. Here we will host our three-day festival on April 3-5th, 2015.
