'Bakemon!' New Character Contest from the Creators of Silent Manga Audition
A new competition to encourage young artists to develop the foundational skill of creating good, convincing manga : “Character Creation”!

“GOOD MANGA BEGINS WITH GOOD CHARACTERS”
Is the theorem that has been practiced by many great manga masters, yet the fact is very often overlooked. Without lively characters that can sympathetically communicate with the reader, creating a manga piece is nearly impossible, and often the very reason young artists face difficulty in creating manga story.
“BAKEMON” is an event aimed to remedy the situation. Instead of a long story, the organisers encourages new artists to first focus on creating a single, entertaining character. Contestants must create a creature (a BAKEMON) based on a real person, by magnifying and exaggerating their interesting traits.
Take inspiration from ordinary people, and create extraordinary characters, while gaining valuable experience in creating manga character, the technique that works universally for all forms of life and styles of manga, from action to romance.
